(To the tune of "Another Nail For My Heart", by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook)
The poet had a story to tell
She made a trip to a dedicated well
And made an offering
The blacksmith worked, he was inspired
To make a good sword, he'd
hold it in the fire
And do some folding
When cold is outside
And udders come down
We stoke up the fire
And all gather 'round
And we call on Bríd
So the
goddess will put
Another iron in her hearth
She travels the night
Along with her cow
We call upon her
To be with us now
To bless our home
And the Bratach Bríd
too
Another iron in her hearth
So many years and so many names
So many people have looked into her
flame
For inspiration
The bards and healers, the warriors too
They all say "Bright
One, we want to honor you
With celebration"
And so many tasks
Are under her sway
From ancient times
Right
up to today
So we call on Bríd
So the goddess will put
Another iron in her hearth
