Who shall sing of the heroes of Ana?
Who shall praise them and honor
the gods?
I sing as the bards in the duns sang of old.
I sing of
the honor that comes to our land.
First hear of Cian, Lugh
Lamfada's father.
He bearded wild Balor his daughter to win.
And
of his son, 'Mildanach, head of our tribe.
His was the feat that
brought Tuath together.
Who followed Lugh? CuChullain so brave.
Foster-son,
well loved of Emer, heroic champion.
Now jump the water, our tribe see
begun.
Fox our wise leader decreeing these games.
First
winner Strider, stalwart great pine.
Followed by Derek, as tall and as
fine.
Showing his boldness, thrice has he led,
Hero and champion,
come to our aid.
Next to the fore, sturdy and true
Came Davroz,
whose courage and wit saw him through.
The following year, brave
Toad was our ace
Winning four ribbons, three of them first place.
Next
Davroz the clever, and Dafydd the bard
Battling on 'fore the crowd,
though the going was hard.
Three heroes behold now, and
chieftain among us,
And fair be the judgement - all are our heroes.
So toast to the gods now, who granted this greatness,
And praise
to the feats that bring honor among us.
