Minutes of the SLG Healers' Guild - April 5th, 1998

Old Business

Materials for the dream pillows (our Lughnasadh regalia) have been purchased.

There was some discussion of topics for our upcoming Guild Retreat in July, including herbal preparation, which would be a lot easier in Rob's parents' nice big kitchen!

New Business

Mama Moon has resigned from the Guild, as well as the Grove. We will all miss her.

With her resignation, the quorum for the Guild has dropped back down to four, so we could actually do voting at this meeting. This does leave the position of Healers' Guild Pursewarden open, but we decided to delay nominations and elections until May's meeting.

Rob Henderson gave his presentation for Journeyman status, including a discussion on his three books: The Herbal Handbook (Hoffman), The Male Herbal (Green), and Healing Teas (Antol).

MOTION: To accept Rob's application and grant Journeyman Healer status (Don, Will) passed 3-0-1 (Rob abstaining)

Our May meeting has been moved to the 17th, to avoid conflicting with Annette and Chris' wedding on the 3rd. The itme and location will remain 4 PM at Jacqui's.

Raven presented her three books for her Full Healer application: Healing Wise (Weed), Essential Book of Herbal Medicine (Mills), and Transpersonal Medicine (Lawlis).

MOTION: To approve these books for Raven's application (Rob, Don) 3-0-1 (Raven abstaining)

Rod Cox submitted his application to join the Guild before the meeting began, since he couldn't stay for the meeting.

MOTION: To approve Rod's application to join the Healers' Guild (Rob, Will) 4-0

Technically, the meeting became unofficial at this point, since our quorum went right back up to five when we added Rod as our ninth member. At May's meeting, we will be discussing a by-laws amendment to add the category of "inactive member", which will allow us to make quorum more easily.

Don will be the designated First Aid provider at the Beltaine ritual.

Raven will be doing the workshop at our May meeting. (Topic TBA)
