Hear me!
I speak as the bards have spoken since words began;
I am the whispered voice in stillness
I am the secret moonlight
pathway
I am the crackling sap in firewood
Who but me knows
the changing wonder?
Who but me, the season's mystery?
The
flaming wildness,
Life's last outrush
Mystery and mazement,
And then ingathered
Inspiration
In the stillness-
Listen!
Drink the moment--
To all who hear these words, three
blessings:
Eyes that see deeply
Ears that hear gently
Tongues to speak with truth and beauty, the wonderous gifts of the heart.
The summer's power is banked now,
The water rises within us
Feel it still and deep amid the rush
Come we now, to the well,
To give thanks and seek blessings and vision.
Here, now, I open a
passage deep,
Deep within the earth, down,
Where all the
waters of the world meet and flow,
And join with the wild waters
around.
Silver I offer, and sweet oil,
That the voices and
visions arising from this deep and ancient portal may give true counsel
and kind seeing,
as the ancient and wild powers dance among us.
Let the well be opened!
These we call, we invite, we invoke,
Great and shining ones who
live ever in our hearts:
First are Bi/le and Danu, first father and
mother of all, spark and fertile seed.
Then Dagda and Bri/d: in your
names we offer feast and fireside.
Ar'n, lusty one, and you
nameless, high-antlered, lordly one, in unceasing alternation,
And
Lugh, our patron, father, protector, guide and teacher.
And to all
you myriad gods and goddesses, named in the hearts of our people, be
welcome among us, feast and delight in the praise that we offer.
Failte, deithe 's bandeithe, Failte!
