Water rises from the sea
It drifts upon the wind
The water
gathers into clouds
Rolling heads of thunder crash
And storm
drives on the mountaintop
The rain flows down in rivulets
It runs through ancient forests
Over bones and skulls and stones
And joins the streams with
mighty rivers
And when those mighty rivers spate
They roll and all fall down
before
Not rock nor oak nor city wall
Nor king may stand
The roots of oaks may break the stone
The smallest stream wears
through at last
All things in time are worn away
Manannan is
the Lord of Death
In every heart a new child sleeps
If we can but waken our beast of
instinct, joy and strength
We'd die to our own hearts, We'd strip
away our city walls
And wake the new who bids us dance
The inner star that shines within us
Knows no mortal law that
binds
We need not cling to hearth, or wealth
Or even life
Throw off your own restraining hand,
Your elder law
For this
time here take off your crown
And join the dance
Time slays the old
Cast off now your old heart, old robes, old
shoes
Let joy entrance you, join the dance!
Die to yourself
and join the dance!
