The Shining Lakes Grove Warriors' Guild has been established to explore the Warriors path and to provide Dumezilan Second function skills for Shining Lakes Grove.
The Shining Lakes Grove Warriors' Guild shall provide mediation and conflict resolution services.
The Shining Lakes Grove Warriors' Guild shall promote physical fitness, knowledge of the law of the land, and logical and critical thinking. The following items are the basic tenets of our vision:
All Guild members must be members of Shining Lakes Grove. The person desiring admission to the Guild must complete an application which is reviewed and voted on by the Guild members at a regular Guild meeting at which a quorum of fifty percent or more of the active Guild members is present. A majority vote is required for admission to the Guild. Full Guild membership and bead will be given when the member has completed Community level CPR training.
Once approved the applicant is accepted as an apprentice. Once accepted as an apprentice he or she shall make a pledge of service at the next grove High Day. The apprentice is then considered a full member of the Guild with full privileges.
To maintain membership in the Guild each warrior must serve on Warrior duty a minimum of 1 high day per calendar year. Failure to meet this requirement can result in removal from the Guild subject to a vote of a quorum of members. To maintain status as an active member for voting purposes a Guild member must attend more than 50% of the Guild meetings per calendar year, and must have participated as a warrior (see WOAD) a minimum of 2 high days per year.
The Warriors' Guild officers consist of the Warrior Guildmaster (Ceann-fine), Guild Scribe and WOAD (Warrior On Active Duty). These offices are open to any full Guild member
The Warrior Guildmaster (Ceann-fine) is responsible for most of the administrative duties of the Guild, including the following:
The Warrior Guildmaster may delegate these responsibilities to the Guild Scribe or WOAD as he or she sees fit. The Warrior Guildmaster serves a term of one year and may be re-elected an unlimited number of times.
The Guild Scribe's duties include the following:
The Guild Scribe serves a one year term and may be re-elected an unlimited number of times.
In case of a vacancy in the office of Warrior Guildmaster, the Guild Scribe shall assume the duties of the Warrior Guildmaster until the next regular Guild meeting, before which, the membership shall be notified that the position has been vacated. Following notice to the membership, at the next meeting, provided that the stated quorum is in attendance, a new Warrior Guildmaster shall be elected by written ballot. In case of vacancy of the Guild Scribe position, an election by written ballot will be held at the next regular Guild meeting to fill the vacancy.
The WOAD (Warrior on Active Duty) is a rotating office for each High day. The WOAD for the following High day will be chosen at the business meeting prior to that High day. The WOAD assigned to the High day will be responsible for assigning the Giolla Ceanna (fire tender) for Firewatch. Although only one warrior is designated as WOAD per high day, the nature of ritual setup and takedown requires multiple people to accomplish the task. The WOAD is responsible for making sure that these tasks are completed:
A regular meeting of the Guild shall be held at least once every third month to handle normal operations of the Guild. Additional meetings may be scheduled as necessary with due notification of the members. A quorum of fifty percent of active Guild members is required to conduct official business. All meetings will be open to anyone interested in attending. However, the Guild reserves the right to hold a closed session at the end of a meeting if deemed necessary.
The Guild's annual meeting will be held in November. At the annual meeting, candidates for office shall be nominated, officers elected and annual reports given. Officers shall take office upon election.
Election of officers shall be subject to a vote. The candidate receiving the largest number of votes at the meeting in which the election takes place shall be considered the winner.
Any active member may participate in a vote by proxy if they are unable to attend a meeting. The proxy shall be given to the Guild Master or the Guild Scribe prior to the meeting unless the member chooses to participate in the vote via phone during the meeting.
Removal of officers or members and emendation or approval of by-laws shall also be subject to a vote by means of processes described later in these by-laws.
The Guild Badges will include:
Officers may be removed from office for gross dereliction of duties. After a reasonable attempt has been made to inform the officer of the charges, a vote shall be taken at the next regular meeting at which the stated quorum of fifty percent of the current Guild members is in attendance. A vote of 3/4 of the members present is necessary to remove the officer. The office shall be filled according to the process described in Section IV of these by-laws.
Any officer removed by the Guild has the right to appeal to the Grove's leadership council.
Any member who wishes to leave the Guild may do so by submitting a letter of resignation to the Guildmaster.
Guild members may be removed for those grounds outlined in the Shining Lakes Grove by-laws as well as the deliberate falsification of application documentation.
After a reasonable attempt has been made to inform the member of the charges, a vote shall be taken at the next Guild meeting at which the stated quorum is present. A Guild member has the right to address the meeting about the charges prior to the vote. A 3/4 vote of active members present is required to expel a member.
Any member expelled by the Guild has the right to appeal to the Grove's leadership council.
To amend any part of these by-laws, a vote shall be taken at a regular Guild meeting at which the quorum as stated above is present. A 2/3 vote of members present is required to pass the emendations.
