SLG Warriors' Guild Notes 10-3-99

Woad for Samhain - Don Clayton

Next meeting we will hold elections. I think it is time for someone else to be Guild Chief. Currently the only positions we need to fill are Guild Chief and scribe. I have attached the bylaws to the end of this note.

We will be helping with security for Blessed Be and Meet me in Detroit. Please bring canned food to donate to the food bank, and flowers to be donated to local hospitals. We will try to arrive an hour earlier than the rest of the folks (7pm).

We would like to have a Warrior's retreat this winter. Preferably in a park which has cabins. Any suggestions are welcome. We would like to do this in January. One of the things we would like to do during this retreat is a berserker rite. We will also focus on finding our guild patron at this time.

We discussed having a video for the next meeting.

We discussed having a catalog sharing day to see sources of weapons.

Workshops on creating weapons from scratch. Don suggested using leaf springs from a vehicle as they are already heat treated. This is a neat idea, but we would need at a minimum a heavy duty grinder to do this. We need more suggestions on other workshops.

We are changing the warriors meeting to 4pm and having the healers meet at 2 since there are several healer-warriors. This will also benefit the warriors since the martial arts class that Rod is teaching will begin at 6pm. Hopefully this way more folks than just Rob, Rod and I will participate.
